CBD Oil & Keto

CBD Oil & Keto Diets

Keto Diets and CBD oil are kind of like Peanut Butter and Jelly for me personally. Combining this style of eating and this oil together can be downright miraculous for the body systems as a whole.

There are many therapeutic benefits of the ketogenic diet including treating obesity, diabetes type 2, epilepsy, lowering cholesterol and heart disease and so on. There are always mixtures of things when combined, create something stronger than if those two things were separate. By this I am meaning, Keto with the use of CBD Oil.

Let me clear a little confusion up about CBD and what it actually is….

Cannabidiol- CBD is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits but does not give people the “stoned” psychoactive effect that marijuana or THC does. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, seizures, spasms, and other conditions.

When CBD and Ketosis are incorporated together, a mix of homeostasis takes place in the body and can help with conditions such as:

  • Epilepsy
  • Depression
  • Schizophrenia
  • PTSD
  • Alcoholism
  • ADHD and more

What exactly is the Keto Diet?

Keto is short for ketogenic and this diet is centered around lowering your carbohydrate intake to 25g a day or less and increasing your healthy fats. In some ways, it’s quite similar to Atkins Diet but incorporates less protein.

When carbohydrates are drastically reduced, your body enters a state called ketosis where your metabolic machinery in your cells start depending on fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates. Fat is turned into ketones in the liver and supplying energy for all systems in the body through ketones.

What Can The Keto Diet Do?

Many people have started this way of eating to lose weight. Pre-diabetics and diabetics have started this way of eating to gain control over their conditions.

The keto diet is very filing and easy to maintain for a lot of people and so they find it one of the easiest ways of life for weight loss.  The keto diet has shown to be helpful for patients of numerous conditions including epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimers, heart disease and more.

So what is CBD and How Does It Fit into the keto diet?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in the cannabis sativa plant. It’s becoming widely researched for health benefits, having been confirmed by the World Health Organization to be safe and well tolerated in most humans as well as being non-addictive since it has no psychoactive properties.

The cannabis plant has two main compounds-

  1. THC – THC is what makes you “medicated”
  2. CBD- CBD is responsible for the medical benefits

Both CBD and the Ketogenic Diet can help with many systems of the body.

Many people start keto and CBD not out of an attempt to reduce symptoms, but to boost their performance and optimize their lifestyle. Athletes and health enthusiasts embrace the combination to reach their goals and boost quality of life. However, people who experience symptoms of various health conditions also use this combination therapeutically. Both keto and CBD have been well-studied and have shown rather similar outcomes, suggesting a powerful synergy between the two.

CBD and the ketogenic diet complement each other in several ways:

  • If you’re obese or struggle with an active lifestyle due to aches and pains, CBD’s powerful anti-inflammatory properties can help make it easier as you start the keto diet. CBD can treat the muscle and joint pain associated with exercise, while providing relief from pain following a workout.
  • CBD promotes homeostasis in the human body, which will stabilize your appetite and help curb the cravings that are common among keto newbies.
  • CBD can help you sleep better and deeper, helps to fight stress, and improve your overall sense of well-being.
  • If you suffer from seizures and epilepsy, CBD and keto are the best natural tools you have that support each other in managing and reducing episodes.
  • CBD and the keto diet both support emotional and mental well-being. They are both effective, even more so when used together, in fighting depression and anxiety. They can also help manage the symptoms of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and ADHD.
  • CBD and hemp products can add valuable nutritional value to the keto diet, including essential fatty acids, omega-3, protein, and more.

If you’re thinking about starting the keto diet for weight loss, or just for long-term health, incorporating CBD early on in the diet may help you battle keto flu. They symptoms of the keto flu are seen early when starting the keto way of eating and can include fatigue, nausea, headaches and sometimes mimic the actual flu.

Some research suggests that consuming a higher fat diet in conjunction with oral CBD helps improve bioavailability.

Some CBD/keto advocates have even gone so far as to make CBD fat bombs, which is quite a creative idea; one that never crossed my mind until doing some reading about the possible connection between CBD oil and ketosis.

Another thing to consider is that CBD and THC are lipophilic and they readily bind to fats, which can prolong their effects in the body. Hence, CBD oil and keto seems like a natural pairing, as it’s possible that the high fat intake would slow the rate of absorption of CBD and lead to a longer lasting effect.

Unfortunately, there is essentially no research available at the time of this writing that specifically targets CBD oil and ketosis. Nevertheless, CBD oil and keto is a niche topic of interest with a variety of anecdotes found across Internet forums.

People who actively consume CBD oil on keto generally report positive effects and claim it has improved their well-being. As always, we need to approach individual experiences with some skepticism since it doesn’t necessarily tell us the underlying truth about CBD oil and ketosis.

The good news is that cannabidiol is undoubtedly beneficial for a myriad of health aspects; even if you don’t follow the keto diet, CBD oil is a beneficial supplement to look into (and it’s now legal in all 50 U.S. states, unlike marijuana).

The Connection between the ECS, Cannabis, Keto and Your Well-being

The scientific and clinical research behind cannabis and the ECS continues to grow, and one thing remains patently clear: a properly functioning ECS is the basis of good health and longevity.

From the time of your conception to nursing and maturation, to fighting off pathogens and healing wounds, the ECS helps you adapt and survive in the fast-paced and ever-changing world we live in.

Moreover, research demonstrates that even nominal doses of CBD from cannabis actually stimulate your body to produce additional endocannabinoids and construct more cannabinoid receptors.

Hence, many newbie CBD users don’t notice much benefit, but by their third or fourth dose they have more cannabinoid receptors and respond more intensely.

Naturally, the best strategy is to use modest, routine doses of CBD to stimulate your ECS and its restorative properties.

If you follow the keto diet, using CBD oil in conjunction with fatty foods may prolong and enhance the effects. (Remember, this is just a supposition until more research is conducted on the topic of CBD oil and ketosis.)

Having this rudimentary understanding of the ECS and how phytocannabinoids interact with it is only scratching the surface of the complex and intricate physiological underpinnings that govern the benefits of CBD in humans.

Rest assured, clinical trials and research in the coming years will help us better understand just how important CBD and the ECS are for our well-being, and whether or not they form any synergy with the keto diet.

Why my scale sucks and so does yours

Why My Scale Sucks and So Does Yours!

Why my scale sucks and so does yours

A week into the new year and already feeling a little down I “only” lost 5 pounds. The idea of “constantly” weighing ourselves has been pushed deep in the brain thinking this is the only measure of success that we should worry about. Well, let me just tell you a little secret, it’s the WORST measurement of success. It’s a dream breaker. It’s a little bitch!

That “number” that you get accustomed to seeing drop everyday will come to a complete hault for days, weeks sometimes, and when it does… you motivation wants to go right out the window and that’s totally not right!

Let’s chat about what actually happens when you start a plan like keto or the Xtreme Skinny HCG Drops. You lose a ton of weight that first week and then poof! It stops for a few days. Why?

Water Weight

The first few days of a very low carb diet, you’ll be losing a lot of water weight. Carbs and sugar hold onto about 2-3 grams of water per 1g of carb. INSANE RIGHT? So when you’re not consuming carbs the first 72 hours of your low carb diet your body will use up those glycogen stores and release all this water weight along with the glycogen stores. Make sense?

Now, depending on how carb heavy your previous plan was, depends on the results you’ll see that first week. Rest assured that most of that “weight” you’re seeing coming off that first week is water.

The Swoosh!

Have you ever heard me talk about the swoosh in the Bee-Xtreme Community? I honestly don’t know another “term” to use because when i think of this, I think of a water balloon bursting. This little process is mostly seen with the Xtreme Skinny Drop program and the process seems to be a little quicker than the regular keto diet only because with the drops, you’re burning around 2000 calories a day. So let me just tell ya what the heck a “swoosh” is.

Fat cells are resilient, stubborn little creatures that do not want to give up their actual cell volume. Over a period of weeks, maybe months of “proper dieting”, each of your fat cells may have actually lost a good percentage of the actual fat contained in those cells. But the fat cells themselves, stubborn little guys, replace that lost fat with water to retain their size. That is, instead of shrinking to match the reduced amount of fat in the cell, they stay the same size! Result – you weigh the same, look the same, maybe even gained some scale weight, even though you have actually lost some serious fat.

The good news is that this water replacement is temporary. It’s a defensive measure to keep your body from changing too rapidly. It allows the fat cell to counter the rapid change in cell composition, allowing for a slow, gradual reduction in cell size. The problem is, most people are frustrated with their apparent lack of success, assume they have lost nothing, and stop dieting.

However, if you give those fat cells the water that they need to “fill up” and some time, like 4-6 weeks, ignore the scale weight fluctuations, your real weight and shape will being to show steadily. Be PATIENT!! Your body is changing even if the number on the scale does not.

Patterns and Obsessing

I always go back to nursing school when I start to think about obsessing over that scale. I have some folks that will weigh themselves in the morning, in the afternoon, after a bowel movement, at night before bed, and all day long. STOP DOING THIS!! You should only be weighing yourself once a day. Hell, weigh in once a week if that number really gets in your head.

Your body fluctuates 2-5 pounds throughout the day depending on many factors such as:

  • How much you ate the through the day
  • How much water you’ve consumed throughout the day
  • If you had a bowel movement
  • If you’re stressed to the max
  • If you’ve exercised
  • If you take over the counter or prescription medications
  • and even the WEATHER can help you weigh less or more through the day. It’s crazy.
You should be weighing first thing in the morning after your first urination. This is your true weight for the day. Don’t worry about the rest guys.

Weighing on the keto diet

Like i said, that first week of keto is usually water weight being lost. Your cells don’t know what the heck is going on in there. It takes about 72 hours for your body to deplete all stored carbs from the body and then guess what, they figure out that you’re no longer consuming carbohydrates for energy so they start searching for an alternate energy source, which is ketones. The liver will start making ketones around day 3-4 so that you have some energy to run off of. But that’s not all that happens.

The cells’ mitochondria will start transforming. This may take a few days. The mitochondria in the cell is the powerhouse that fuels you. If it’s no longer getting glucose it’ll be searching for ketones. If you’ve ever used keto stix to check your urine and they become dark purple, congrats! Your body is producing ketones like it should. But after a few weeks those sticks get lighter and lighter. Why? Well, your body quits EXPELLING them and starts USING them for energy. So even though the sticks are getting lighter and lighter that does NOT mean you’re not in ketosis, it means your body is functioning correctly and the mitochondria has changed over to being fat-fueled or what’s known as fat adaption.

Again- be patient when it comes to fat adaption and focus on non scale victories in the meantime.

Non-Scale Victories

The little tid bits of success you may not even be realizing…

1. You feel stronger. You know those endless set of stairs at work or the subway station that you dread walking up every single day? Guess what, after a few weeks they’ll be a piece of cake. You’ll have more energy than you know what to do with.

2. Your clothes will start fitting differently. Before starting your journey, grab that old pair of jeans and take a selfie. See how much of a “spare tire” you’re carrying around up there and take progress pics in those same jeans every couple weeks.

3. If you’re working out: pay attention to muscle definition. I hate when people say muscle weighs more than fat. That’s not true. A pound is a pound. A pound of feathers is completely different than a pound of bricks though, wouldn’t you agree? Muscle takes up less space. It’s more dense. Notice your gains (in the pics and not the scale)

4. You may not be noticing but I can guarantee other people will notice. Visit some old friends and I bet they congratulate you on your weight loss. We see ourselves every single day and our head can be distorted about whether or not we’re losing. I bet your friend will see the progress, no doubt.

5. Mood changes/ happier. We tend to focus solely on outside appearances. But there’s a lot to be said about the shape of your inner self too. Take a step back and analyze how you feel as you go throughout your day. Is your mood brighter? Are you more confidents? Are you sleeping better? These factors are flashing indicators that positive changes are happening. When you get in the habit of making better, healthier choices, it becomes easier to replace al of that negativity you tend to pile on yourself with happier thoughts.

Keto Diet VS HCG Diet?

I wanted to write this article because this question was brought to me by an avid “Keto-er” who wanted to try our ever-so-popular Xtreme Skinny Weight Loss Drops along with the keto WOE (way of eating). So, is there a difference and can the keto WOE be done with the diet drops? HCG Diet Drops have a specific menu for a reason.

Well, there is a big difference between these 2 styles of eating. There are even more similarities but no, you should not do the Keto WOE with drops and here’s why:

— The HCG Diet is a diet derived from Dr. Simeons back in the 1950’s. Dr. Simeons wrote a book  called “pounds and inches” on his studies with “fat boys” and pregnant women.

His studies showed that when fat boys (as he called them) were given HCG (the pregnancy hormone) along with a very low calorie diet, on average the fat boys would lose an astonishing 0.8-1.5 pounds of fat per day. I know, AMAZING right?

But how does this work?

The HCG hormone works with the body & the diet to create a state of ketosis. The HCG allows the for your excess fat in the body to be “unlocked” and used as an energy source during this short term diet. Much like the keto diet, your body uses your STORED fat as an energy source. Although the hcg diet is a low fat low carb way of eating for a short time period.  (mainly because the very low carbs are not a sustainable way of eating for long periods of time, unlike the keto diet which is looked at as more of “lifestyle” change rather than a short term diet)

Since the body is consuming such low fat during the hcg diet the body is using the stored fat as an energy source helping you burn inches off and lose pounds on the scale. The average weight loss with our drops is 10-25 pounds in 21 days. The range is wide for the simple fact that some people have much more to lose than others.

The similarities in the two diets is just that the body enters a state of ketosis with both diets. What that means is the body is deprived of carbohydrates. Since carbohydrates are usually the FIRST thing the body burns as an energy source, the body will then look for another energy source ( aka fats) since you’re not feeding the body carbohydrates. When carb levels are low, the body must break down fat stores to provide sufficient energy.

Ketones. What Are They?

Ketones are the derivative from fat when fat is metabolized as energy. Ketones are used by the muscles, the brains, and other parts of the body for energy.

When the body is in ketosis, it is constantly burning fat for energy and any low carb diet of less than 50-100 net grams of carbohydrates per day is considered to be “ketogenic”.

I have a lot of customers who will transition to the Keto WOE after a round of HCG drops.

It takes approximately 9-14 days for your body to enter a state of ketosis after carb deprivation. This is why during week 2 of the HCG diet is where you will SEE the most fat loss (inches) falling from your body and even so in week 3.

As to why the “keto” way of eating can NOT be done with the hcg diet drops…

The HCG Diet is a low FAT diet vs the Keto diet which is a HIGH FAT diet. The reasoning for the low fat on the hcg diet is so your body uses your fat stores as the energy source vs fat stores and fat consumed during the keto diet. It just makes sense that you’ll see faster results with the hcg diet than the keto diet. Yes makes faster sense that you’ll see faster fat loss BUT this does not rule out doing the Keto WOE with the drops. IT’s Working! See edit below!

** Edit 2-15-18 I am trial and erroring this way of eating with the weight loss drops and IT’S WORKING. I’m keeping carbs at a min of 13g and under, protein between 50-65 g a day (depending on exercise) and fat intake between 60-77g! I’ve lost 6 pounds in 11 days. Which is awesome considering i only wanted to lose 6 pounds total. IT’S WORKING for pounds on the scale. However, fat loss was minimal during the 11 day trial. I would not recommend this way of eating with drops.

*** Fast results do not always mean better though. Please remember that. The Keto diet is a wonderful style of eating for many. Slower results are experienced and that is totally ok. This is considered a lifestyle-change for many compared to the unsustainable HCG Diet.***

Ummm, it honestly depends on who you ask. This is a great debate from many doctors. The debate brings in facts of someone with already high cholesterol levels, obese patients with heart issues, liver issues, etc. This varies from person to person. If you’re concerned about eating keto becuase of high cholesterol levels, I urge you to speak with your doctor first and foremost and then try the HCG Diet drops first instead.

Ketogenic diets have been used for many many years without major medical problems and there is plenty of clinical evidence out there that low carb and high protein diets are effective at not only losing weight, but reducing disease predisposition.

Losing weight without exercise, can it be done? we say yes!!

A conversation with a customer the other day inspired me to write this blog post. Sam has lost a whopping 80 pounds since May of this year using Xtreme Skinny Drops. Has she exercised? No. Losing weight without exercise isn’t impossible. We say you can do it!

After seeing a friend of her’s for the first time in awhile the friend complimented her on her weight loss and asked her what she was doing. Sam explained to her about cleaning up her diet and the protocol that you follow along with the weight loss drops. Her friend’s response “I can’t wait to see how fast you put that back on”. Girllll, please. Do some research before you go spitting at the mouth and insulting someone who has just lost 80 pounds in 4 months!!

There are some people in this world who can not physically exercise. Whether it be from an injury, their current weight, or other health conditions, there are some people out there who can’t do it.

Sam’s friend pissed me off. Like really pissed me off. I feel that is a slap in my face seeing that I base my business off of those who can not exercise and how to help them reach even the tiniest goal in their weight loss journey without exercise to get their mind in the right place and saying “yes, i can do this!”.  It keeps them pushing harder, and who knows, they may not be able to start with exercise but by the end of their journey they will start exercising regularly. That is what Bee-Xtreme is all about. So Sam’s friend– do some research before you spew at the mouth. Seriously.

This is the category most fall into. This is the category I fall into. It’s not that I don’t like to exercise, because I do. I need it mentally. It’s a stress reliever for me. But I cannot spend 2-3 hours in a gym every night. I have a family, I run not one but 2 businesses, my son has homework, I am also a nurse that works at least 4 days a week outside of my home and I would rather spend my time enjoying life than killing myself in a gym.

I exercise 20-40 minutes a day. that’s it. And not every day! Sometimes I barely have time to pee! LOL!!

Yes!! Absolutely! Just clean up that food that you’re putting in your mouth!! The protocol for the Xtreme Skinny Drops consists of 800-1000 calories of clean eating from fresh proteins and veggies and some fruit.

The diet is a short diet ranging from 10 days to 40 days. It is short because it’s effective and you do not need to do it for very long periods of time to see results. Most people will lose 10-25 POUNDS in 21 days.

Because of the low calorie consumption, EXERCISE IS NOT ENCOURAGED with this diet.

The most important part about this diet is not the “diet days”. It’s the stabilization phase after you stop taking the weight loss drops. It is in those 3 weeks is when your body will recognize your new weight and recognize a new starting point. This is crucial for weight loss success long term.

Don’t worry, there’s correction days that can be done to get you back down on the scale. We are only human guys!! Some people slip up and have some “no-no” food. As long as you are recognizing this mistake and correcting it, you’re LEARNING. And that is the most important thing to take away from this diet!!

As we get older and older we have to discipline ourselves more and more. And I hate to tell Sam’s friend– that her “exercise is the only way to lose weight” is going right out the window when she gets that dreaded injury. ( I pray she doesn’t get injured but if she does, she can find us here) 😉

If you’re interested in learning more about the Xtreme Skinny Drops and how you can too get started with losing insane amount of weight and fat please contact me! P.S. Here’s Sam’s ABSOLUTELY AMAZING results!!

Xtreme skinny drops for post baby fat!

Is it possible to get rid of this post baby saggy skin? YES!!

It’s very possible!! Xtreme Skinny Drops™ target the “abnormal” fat cells of the body. Will it take some work? ABSOLUTELY. But it’s very possible!
The Xtreme Skinny™ diet is scientifically proven to result in fat loss and is one of the few diets that exclusively targets excess fat without lean muscle loss. The diet utilizes the effect of the the drops to release excess fat stores in combination with a very low calorie diet.

The diet offers a solution that works permanently to reduce fat cells and reduce a person’s risk of developing chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and other illnesses. There are hundreds of other benefits of having a lower body fat percentage and a normal BMI, and countless people who have tried the diet have had success with lowering their body fat percentage. The diet reduces the negative effects of a modern diet and helps to reset the hypothalamus so that up to 2000 calories of fat are burned each day from abnormal fat reserves and cravings for starches and sugars are reduced.

Abnormal fat is a common problem that the diet solves.

Modern diets are high in starch and sugar, and there is an abundance of readily available high energy foods. Abnormal fat is stored by the body in undesirable places because too many of our calories come from starch and sugar. Your body stores excess calories as abnormal fat because it is programmed to prepare for lean times. Abnormal fat ends up being stored in the hips, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and other areas, and these areas end up being difficult to target with a fat loss diet.

The Xtreme Skinny™ diet metabolizes this abnormal fat by activating it for metabolism using the effect of the drops. It is especially important that abnormal fat is burned primarily, as other diets will target structural fat and fat reserves which are normal and important to have.

The diet has the major benefit of targeting undesirable abnormal fat without burning muscle and results in a leaner and more natural figure at the end of the diet. Abnormal fat is not targeted by other diets which is the main reason why so many people experience frustration that their stubborn fat ends up mostly staying on, even after they perfectly follow the diet.

This is because other diets do not utilize the unique fat targeting effect that the Xtreme Skinny™ diet provides. The problem of stubborn fat staying on does not happen with the diet; dieters who strictly follow the diet protocol will see abnormal fat loss results every time, and a main benefit of the diet is that it does eliminate the stubborn fat that most other diets can’t.

The drops will reprogram the hypothalamus to restore a normal appetite.

The hypothalamus is a part of your brain that controls your appetite and other functions, and when you have a diet high in sugar and starch your hypothalamus will be unnaturally programmed to drive you to eat more of those foods. Once the diet has been completed your cravings for starch and sugar will be reduced if not eliminated.
A low calorie diet is both necessary and sufficient for the diet to work
The diet has careful food selections. The foods are whole, filled with protein, and fresh veggies along with fruit and very few carbs. A lot like the keto diet!

The drops will make a person release all the energy it needs, up to 2000 calories per day.
This diet has been used by hundreds of thousands of people since the early 1950s as a diet supplement without any major side effects.

The diet is for everyone!

The best part about the diet is that it can work for anyone no matter what your weight loss goals are. It can reduce your body fat percentage if you are just looking to slim down, and it offers a safe alternative to lose weight quickly for obese people outside of gastric bypass surgery.
Those who are obese may need multiple rounds of the diet in order to lose their desired amount of fat, but the great benefit of the diet is that it can be completed as many times as necessary in short 21 to 42 day cycles until the desired weight loss result is achieved.
In 21 days a person can lose up to 15 pounds and in 46 days a person can lose anywhere from 15-35 pounds or more. Most people can expect fat loss of a half-pound to a pound per day if the program is strictly followed. So if you have heard about the diet but are on the fence on whether or not it might work for you, hopefully this article has addressed some of your questions and if you are ready to start you can join us in the BeeXtreme Community to learn more about this amazing diet!!
